We at the LiUNA Local 183 Training Centre pride ourselves on delivering the most comprehensive training programs. The Training Centre has three training campuses located in Vaughan, Cobourg and Barrie and between the three equals over 40 acres of training space.
At each of our campuses, trainees will experience a simulated construction site, utilizing real work site processes and materials. They will gain hands on experience while learning new skills or updating existing ones. Our training sites have the capacity to allow us to run multiple programs using the entire campus, both inside our training bays as well as outside on our surrounding property.
Our Barrie campus, which is our newest campus, open since 2009, is located in the heart of the city, and strives to provide sector specific training in the area of health and safety, construction skills and apprenticeship for Simcoe County and the surrounding regions. Please note that course scheduling at our Barrie site is based on course demand.
Our Cobourg campus offers approximately 34, 000 square feet of training space both indoors and out. It also hosts our Eastern Union office which conveniently allows our members to pay their dues, get updates on employment opportunities and register for courses.
The office located at 1263 Wilson avenue is our Main Administrative office. All programs are scheduled through this location for all campuses. Health and safety and skills upgrading, including pipeline safety, ground disturbance and blueprint reading programs are the focus of the Toronto office.
